Recall: Ducati Multistrada 1200 & Ducati Diavel

Here’s a type of recall that we’ll begin to see more of in the coming years, Ducati North America is recalling 1,051 Diavel and Multistrada 1200 motorcycles because of a faulty software issue. A certain version of the hands free software package may cause the electronic steering lock to fail to disable during the “key on” process. The result is that a rider would be unable to move their motorcycle, at least not beyond a ...

Spy Photo: 2012 KTM 690 Duke

MCN is running a photo today that a Austrian KTM enthusiast supposedly snapped at at gas station just down the street from the Austrian company’s Mattighofen headquarters. Coming across what looks to be an early-prototype of the 2012 KTM 690 Duke, we have at least a rough idea of what KTM will likely unveil at EICMA later this year. Expected to be a few horsepower up on its predecessor, the ~70hp 2012 KTM 690 Duke has ...

Moto Morini Corsaro Veloce by Luca Bar

In case you haven’t notice, we really like the work of Luca Bar. The young Italian designer has an eye for motorcycles we like to own, so it seemed fitting that we show off one of Bar-Design’s older works, the Moto Morini Corsaro Veloce. With the fabled Italian company set to go up on the auction block again this summer, we thought perhaps some inspiration from Maestro Bar would help pull some buyers out of ...

Honda's 2012 MotoGP Machine Tested In Japan, Stoner And Pedrosa To Test In Jerez

After the high-profile rollout Ducati gave their 2012 MotoGP machine at Jerez in early April, where both Valentino Rossi and Nicky Hayden put laps on the new, larger capacity Desmosedici GP12, attention turned to the other manufacturers, with speculation beginning on when Honda, Suzuki and Yamaha would start to test their 2012 prototypes. Most of that attention was focused on Honda, as HRC had been due to test their bike for the new 1000cc capacity limit in mid-March, but the devastating Tohoku Earthquake (as it has now been named) which took place just a few days before the planned rollout put a stop to the test.

HRC was forced to postpone the test, but once the situation in parts of Japan started to normalize, the Japanese manufacturing giant could start to think about rescheduling the bike's on-track debut. The postponement would eventually be only a month, with the 2012 machine finally undergoing its shakedown test at Suzuka, on April 14th and 15th. The bike was put through its paces in a shakedown test by HRC's test riders Kousuke Akiyoshi and grizzled MotoGP veteran Tady Okada, according to a report on MotoGP.com.
